夏休み

ことし　の　夏休み　は　ニューヨーク　に　います。　毎年　母と　旅行　していますが、ことし　どこへも　行きませんです。七月と八月には　コンサート　が　ひくよていです。　セントラル　パーク　に　ひきます。　ベートヴァン　が　ひこうとおもっています。きょねん　ひいた　とき、　雨が　降りました。そとで　ひいてたから、　たいへんでした。　雨が　はじめたとき、　みんな　かさ　を　つかりました。　でも、たくさん　降りましたから、おわらなければなりませんでした。　　

ボーストン　にも　いこうとおもっています。父は　ボーストン　に　住んでいます。魚つり　は　大好きです。　私も　大好きです。　父は　ボーストン　で　小さい　ふね　を　もっています。だから、毎年　夏休みに　父と　魚つり　に　いきます。去年　私　は　３６インチ　の　魚を　つりました！とても　おもしろかったです！

はる 休み に ここへ いってくらさい！

サムさん、こんにちは！　去年　の　はる　休みに　モンタナ　へ行きました。　とても　おもしろかったです。サムさん、山が　好きですか？カリスペルに行ったら、することが　たくさん　あります。　スキー　すること　が　できますか。たくさんスキーじょう　が　あります。すてきな　山　です。そして、安くて、人が　少ないです。カリスペル　の　近くに、グレーシャーナシノル　パーク　が　あります。とても　すてきな　こうえん　です。　山は　高くて、　どうぶつ　が　いて、すてきな　写真　を　とることができます。　川も　あります。　青くて、　きれいです。でも、山の川　ですから、さむいです。　だから　およがないでください！　モンタナは　みお　の　いちばん　すきな　ところです。　人はしんせつで、　すること　と　みること　が　たくさん　あります。　わたしも　また　行きたいです！じゃ、またね！　　みお

About Communication

From this podcasting project, I expect to become slightly more comfortable speaking in Japanese.  We are going to do a little Japanese food tour of NYC, and hopefully we will be able to be comfortable enough in our Japanese to communicate effectively with our viewers.  I am excited to go to different restaurants in New York and try out ones I have never been to.   It has been a really long time since I have made any sort of video, so I hope to get more familiar with how to make and edit one on the computer.  To me, effective communication means being honest and clear about what one is trying to communicate about.  It is important in every aspect of life, and especially in this podcast, it will be important for our group members to communicate and listen to one another in order to make a successful podcast. 

好きな物

先週、おともだち　と　この　ビデオ　を　みました。　この　うた　は　いちばん　すき　な　うた　じゃない。でも、この　ビデオ　を　へんで、　おもしろい　です。　バンド　は kansas　です。　Everyone in the band looks like they are having fun, but also seem so serious.  Except for the drummer, who seems very unenthusiastic.  先週の金曜日、おともだち　の　コンサート　に　いきました。ブラース　バーンド　の　コンサート　でした。　そひて、　この　うた　を　ひきました。　それも　ほんとうに　おもしろかった。This song reminds me of growing up and listening to classic rock with my dad.

Their other famous song, "Dust in the Wind" has another rather humorous (though probably not trying to be), video.

ふゆ やすみ

ふゆ　休み　に　どこえも　いきませんでした。　ニューヨーク　に　いました。　クリスマス　に　わたし　の　はは　と　あに　は　日本へ　いきました。　わたし　も　いきたかったです。　でも、　オーケストラ　の　コンサート　が　よんかい　ありましたから、いきませんでした。　ふゆ　やすみ　に　バイオリン　を　たくさん　ひきました。　１２月３１日に　９２ストリートY　で　コンサート　を　ひきました。　ベエートヴァン　の　５　シーンフォニ　と　テリ　ライリ　”in C"　を　ひきました。　ノース　ケロライナで　コンサートも　ありました。　だから、　ひこうい　で　チャポル　ヒルへ　いきました。　チャポル　ヒルで　あめ　でした、だから　ざんえんでした。　でも、とても　おもしろかった。　きれい　な　まち　です。　そして　ひと　が　とても　しんせつ　でした。　　りようり　も　とても　おいしい　でした。　バービクゥ　が　たくさん　たべました。　ふゆ　やすみ　は　おもしろかった。でも　ほんとに　いそがしでした　から　あまり　やすみませんでした！

I have a backyard with lots of alley cats, that you hear all summer long, but not in the winter when it is cold.  So this poem is about the life and lively-ness of summer in new york compared to how dark and dreary the winter can be. 

2 usages of katakana. One is a loanword, and the other to emphasize a dark quiet winter.

I love walking under fall leaves as the fall.  This poem is about watching the yellow and red leaves gracefully fall.

Every spring I go look at cherry blossoms with my mother, and used to with my grandmother before she passed away.  I always used to think that if birds nest in those trees, they have would pretty flowers to look at.  This poem is about new life of spring. Not only of the flowers, but of animals, specifically baby birds that quietly chirp. My mother corrected me that sakura are never red, but I kept that in there anyway because there are other types of flowering trees that do have red blossoms.
